This information will stay up for those going to County, State, or National (seniors only) competitions.
Horse Bowl and Hippology
Horse Bowl-
Horsebowl
is a competition where 4H members sit at buzzers. The
facilitator asks a question and the first person to hit the buzzer and
answers correctly earns a point. An incorrect answer loses a point.
At the end of the rounds, the people with the most points are asked to
join the Middlesex County team. This team then competes against the
other 4H counties in the state competition in April. The top five
seniors at the State competition then get an opportunity to compete at
the National competition in Kentucky in November.
Hippology-
Hippology
takes place right before Horse Bowl. Hippology is a written test that tests your knowledge of horses. The
top scorers also join the County team for the state competition in
April and from there can move on to Nationals for Seniors. These
tests are often very hard, so don't be disappointed if you get a bad
score
