Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How old do you have to be to join?
A:
A member must be at least 5 years old as of January 1st to join, and no more than 18 years old.

Q: How do you join?

A: Get in touch with Sue Lukey, the club leader, and she will give you the necessary membership forms.  You can also come to a club meeting, and ask Sue there for the forms.

Q: How much does it cost to join?

A: There is a $50 membership fee due to the County office if it is paid before November 1st.  If it is paid after November 1st, it is $60.  At this point there are no club fees to pay.

Q: Where, and what times, are the club meetings?

A: The Horse Club meets regularly every-other Wednesday at 6:30 at Sue Lukey's house in Hopkinton, MA.  The Crafty Cats meet on non-Horse Club Wednesdays at 6:00 at the same place.  The Heritage Breeds Club meets one Sunday per month at Paul Bourdon's farm at 1:00 in Southborough, MA.

Q: Do you have to own/ride a horse to join?

A: Absolutely not!  Many of our members don't own or ride a horse.  All you have to have is a genuine love for horses, or at least an interest.

Q: How many members, of what ages, are in your club?

A: We have about 45 members in our 4H club, ranging in age from 5 to 18.  At the moment, we seem to have a very large group of 10-12 year-olds and a large group of 14-16 year olds.  Right now, almost all of the members of our 4H club are girls- however that doesn't mean only girls can join.

Q: How do I contact you?

A: Start by emailing Cory Branscomb at horsefantasie@verizon.net.  She can point you in the right direction for your specific needs.
